Effective September 23, 2026. Plain language on purpose — if something here is unclear, email and ask.
This site, leagues.grovepickleball.com, is run by The Grove Pickleball LLC, which operates two indoor pickleball facilities in Dallas, Texas. This policy covers everything on it:
- The league page for the Dallas Premier Pickleball League (DPPL) — rosters, standings, schedule, score entry, player profiles, the team board at /board and the Watch section.
- Grove Exchange and Pick'em — free, play-money prediction games on league matches.
- The league software — the tool at /start that lets any organizer set up and run their own league.
There are no accounts and no passwords anywhere on the site.
The short version
- League pages are public. Player names, gender, DUPR ratings, teams and results are shown to anyone with the link.
- No email addresses or phone numbers are ever published.
- The site sets no cookies. No ads, no analytics, no trackers. Nothing is sold.
- The Exchange is play money only. No payments are ever collected here.
- Want your name, photo or profile corrected or taken down? Email mo@grovepickleball.com.
What is shown publicly
League pages are meant to be seen, so the following is visible to anyone who has a page's link:
- Rosters. Player full name, gender, team, and DUPR rating and reliability. On the DPPL page, also dominant hand and captain role.
- Results. Scores, lineups, rally logs, standings and the schedule.
- Profiles. Anything a player or captain chooses to add to a profile, including an optional photo. Every profile field beyond the roster basics is optional.
- Exchange and Pick'em. The display name you choose when you join, shown next to your trades, positions, picks and leaderboard rank, and on the list of weekly winners.
- Video. Court livestreams and replay clips in the Watch section (see Video below).
Where player information comes from
- League organizers. For the DPPL that is The Grove. For leagues created with the league software, it is that league's organizer (the "commissioner").
- DUPR. Ratings come from DUPR, a third-party pickleball rating service — either typed in by the organizer or synced by the organizer from their own DUPR account (see below).
- Players themselves. Optional profile fields and photos.
- Anyone with the link. By design, anyone with a league's link can enter a score. That is why the change log below exists.
The league software (/start)
When an organizer creates a league at /start, we store what they enter: the league name, team names, and for each player a name, gender, DUPR rating and, optionally, a DUPR ID. Organizers may optionally give us an email address so The Grove can contact them about their league; it is stored with the league's private settings, never shown on any page, never sold, and deleted on request. We do not ask organizers for their name or phone number.
- Commissioner link. Creating a league produces a private commissioner link. Its secret key sits in the part of the link after the #, which browsers do not send to servers when loading a page. The key is saved in your browser's local storage on the device you used, and your device sends it to us only to authorize commissioner changes. Anyone who has that link can manage the league, so keep it private.
- Optional DUPR sync. An organizer can choose to sync ratings with a bookmarklet run on dashboard.dupr.com while signed in to their own DUPR account. The sync runs in the organizer's browser and, at the organizer's direction, sends us rating information for the players in their league. We never ask for, and do not want, anyone's DUPR password. We do not send anything to DUPR.
- Organizer's responsibility. Organizers decide who appears in their league and must have permission to post those players' names and ratings. If you are listed in a league run by someone else and want a change, ask the organizer or email us — we can correct or remove it directly.
The change log
Because score entry is open, the server keeps a record of what changed in each league and which device changed it. A device is identified only by a short one-way code (a salted hash of the IP address and browser string, cut to a few characters) and a rough device label like "iPhone · Safari". The code cannot be turned back into an IP address. It is not your name or a login, and it is used only to spot and undo tampering. The log keeps the most recent 1,000 changes per league; older entries drop off automatically.
What stays on your device
The site sets no cookies. It uses your browser's local storage for a few things:
- Your exchange key. A random key created when you join the Exchange or Pick'em, so the site recognizes you on that device. It is sent to our server only to identify your own orders and picks.
- Your commissioner key, if you created a league (see above).
- Small preferences — the tab you were on, whether you dismissed a tip, whether a drawer was open. These never leave your device.
- An offline copy. If you add the site to your Home Screen, your browser keeps a copy of the league page so it still opens without a signal.
Clearing this site's data in your browser removes all of it. If you clear an exchange or commissioner key and have no copy of it, we cannot restore it, because we have no other way to know it was you.
What the site does not collect
- No payment details. The Exchange is play money; nothing can be bought or cashed out. DPPL league fees are handled separately and never touch this site.
- No passwords and no accounts.
- No published contact information. Email addresses and phone numbers are never published or served to the page.
- No advertising, analytics or tracking. No analytics cookies, no ad networks, no social pixels, no cross-site tracking.
- No precise location.
Video
Courts at The Grove's facilities may be recorded and livestreamed, as described in the facility waiver. Livestreams and replay clips appear in the Watch section of the league page. Replay clips are stored with Cloudflare R2. Some livestreams play from the court's streaming service or are embedded from YouTube; when you press play on an embedded video, that provider receives your request and may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy. If a clip shows you and you want it taken down, email us.
How we use information
- To run leagues: show rosters, results, standings, schedules and video.
- To run the Exchange and Pick'em, settle markets, keep leaderboards and award prizes.
- To prevent and undo tampering, cheating and abuse, and to keep the site secure.
- To answer your requests, and to comply with the law.
We do not sell personal information, share it for advertising, or use it to build profiles of you.
Service providers
A few companies help run the site. Each sees the ordinary technical information any web request carries, such as an IP address and browser type:
- Railway hosts the site and its Postgres database in the United States. League data and uploaded photos are stored there.
- Cloudflare stores replay video (R2) and serves the video player library used in the Watch section.
- Google Fonts serves the site's typeface, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
- Video providers — the court streaming service and YouTube — when you play their video.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply to it.
How long we keep it
- League data (rosters, results, profiles, photos) is kept while the league page is live, because standings and history depend on it, or until the organizer or the person concerned asks us to remove it.
- The change log keeps the latest 1,000 changes per league.
- Exchange and Pick'em names, trades and picks are kept for the season; records of the last 40 weekly contests are kept so winners can be verified.
When we delete something, any copies in routine hosting backups are overwritten over time.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. Commissioner and exchange keys are long random values, and device codes in the change log are one-way hashes. No system is perfectly secure, so we keep as little as we can. If you think a commissioner link has leaked, or you spot something wrong, email us right away.
Correcting or removing something
Anyone listed on the site can ask us to correct or remove their name, rating, photo, profile, exchange name, trading history or a video clip. Email mo@grovepickleball.com with the page link and what you want changed. We may ask a question or two to confirm it is really you. We aim to act within a few days, and always within 45 days.
You can also ask what information we hold about you. You can clear your own exchange key any time from Prediction Market → This device → Sign out on this device, or by clearing this site's data in your browser.
For a league run with the league software, we may let that league's organizer know about the request. Removing a player can change a league's past results and standings; we will still do it if you ask.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Organizers must not add players under 13, and must have a parent's or guardian's permission before listing anyone under 18. If you believe a child under 13 is listed, email us and we will delete it. Prizes are for adults only (see the Terms).
Do Not Track
We do not track you across other sites, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off.
Changes
If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. If a change is significant, we will also note it on the league page.
